How did you start in the business: When I was 14, I was intrigued by another disc jockey working at one of QCM's "sister-stations" WCHA 800 AM. At that time, WCHA was a country format station and I used to come into the station and watch my friend (Scott Douglas) do his on-air shift from time to time. I remember one late afternoon, at that time many AM stations would go off air around dark, Scott put a tape on the one machine to record, set the studio up to hear within the studio only, and allowed me to "play" records, commercials, talk into the mic, etc while the station was off-air; however, the tape was recording everything for an hour. Scott then dubbed this onto a cassette tape for me to take home and enjoy, and I still have that tape today. I shortly thereafter got hired to operate the tapes and church services as a "board op" on Sunday mornings. After a period of time, I managed to work my way up to work on, at that time, Z-95 and continues today on Mix 95.1. I also got the opportunity to work on QCM as a part-timer as well and enjoy my opportunities with the radio stations. I have worked here for the company since the Summer of 1985.
