England Is Allowing Indoor Concerts Starting August 1st

While there has been mostly gloom and doom when talking to experts about when we’ll be able to go back to having concerts, music fans in England got some good news this past weekend.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Friday that England will allow indoor concerts starting August 1st, 2020.

Johnson added that there will be strict guidelines in place including social distancing, online ticketing, reduced capacity and frequent sanitization of venues.

Britain’s culture secretary Oliver Dowden said, “The UK’s performing arts sector is renowned across the world and I am pleased that we are making real progress in getting its doors reopened to the public with social distancing. From August indoor theatres, music venues and performance spaces will safely welcome audiences back across the country.”

This comes just days after Marc Geiger, co-founder of Lollapalooza, said he didn’t think concerts would return to the U.S. before 2022.
