• Godsmack drummer Shannon Larkin is talking a little smack on Metallica’s latest single.
• Appearing on the 2020’d podcast, Larkin said Metallica’s “Lux Æterna” wouldn’t be climbing the charts without the Metallica name: “If that was some new band with the song ‘Lux Aeterna’… Here they are, ‘Soda Can,’ whatever the band is. And this is their new song, ‘Lux Æterna’ That s*** wouldn’t be No. 2. It might not even make the Top 40. Who knows?“
• Despite throwing shade, Larkin insists the single “sounds fantastic” and that Metallica “deserve to be No. 1”.
