Motley Crue Are Still Training Hard For Their Stadium Tour
Motley Crue’s tour with Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts was supposed to be the big summer concert attraction, but it’s fate is in doubt, just like everything else due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Despite that, the band continues to train hard for it’s return to the road.
“Vince is killing it,” bassist Nikki Sixx tweeted. “Trainers [and] nutritionists focused on opening night.”
“I train like crazy for tours,” Sixx said of himself. “You don’t want to step onstage and not have double the stamina as the length of the show. I do fasted cardio, weight training and HIIT [high intensity interval training]. I eat 2,250 calories a day. And then, of course, there is building stamina around my bass playing. I’ve got to be ready to go fast and hard for 90 to 120 minutes while jumping around like a madman and singing background vocals. You don’t just wing rock ‘n’ roll. It’s a sport.”
Drummer Tommy Lee urged everyone to stay safe and isolate, posting this message on Instagram: “Hey, can y’all please stay the fuck inside? I got some big stadium shit to do in June!!!”
The tour is scheduled to begin June 18th. The dates in D.C. and Hershey are in August.
