Legendary Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour has revealed his all-time favorite rock song — and his selection will likely surprise a lot of people.

The 74-year-old says his number one pick is “Dancing in the Street” by Martha and the Vandellas. “It’s a tough choice, isn’t it?” Gilmour says. “I’d just have to take Martha and the Vandellas, I think, for the dancing — ‘Dancing in the Street.’ I’m gonna need to dance. I don’t do it very often, of course, at my hugely advanced age.”

Originally recorded in 1964, “Dancing in the Street” has since been covered by a plethora of acts, including Van Halen, The Kinks, Little Richard, David Bowie and Mick Jagger and others. The Martha and the Vandellas version peaked at number 2 on theĀ Billboard Hot 100 Chart.
