Roger Daltrey Shares Why He Doesn’t Want You Smoking Pot At Who Concerts

Roger Daltrey isn’t trying to harsh your buzz. He just wants fans of the Who to light up outside.
“All I ask for is a little respect for someone doing their best to deliver a good night out for everyone,” Daltrey said in a new statement to Billboard magazine.
Daltrey said he has an “extreme allergic reaction” to marijuana smoke, something that “is quite well known amongst real Who fans.”
“I have a sensitive issue on my vocal cords and the smoke has the effect of shutting down my voice making singing really hard work,” Daltrey noted.
“If you have to smoke it, get off your ass and go to the bog [bathroom] or eat it, please refrain from blowing clouds of it at me. I probably end up smoking more of your pot than you do and it becomes a singer’s nightmare. You are putting the whole show in jeopardy by your selfish behavior. Give it some thought.”
Daltrey made a general aversion to drugs clear in his 2018 autobiography Thanks a Lot Mr. Kibblewhite, saying he mostly kept clean – even during the Who’s wild and woolly hey day. “But the other [band members] took up any slack,” Daltrey added in the new statement.
