Tickets To Florida Concert Are $18 For COVID-Vaccinated, $1,000 For Those Who Aren’t

Many state and local governments and businesses are offering perks for people to get vaccinated against Covid-19, including even lotteries with major prizes. But a Florida concert promoter came up with an idea that’s instead more stick than carrot for the unvaccinated.

Tickets for a concert at the end of June in St. Petersburg that will have performances from three punk rock bands — Teenage Bottlerocket, MakeWar and Rutterkin — will cost a discounted $18 for those who are vaccinated and $999.99 for those who haven’t gotten the vaccine.

There are some 250 $18 tickets for sale and just four of the $1,000 tickets. None of the higher-priced ones have been sold so far.

Paul Williams of Leadfoot Promotions told ABC News he came up with the idea when vaccination availability opened to everyone in Florida, and while trying to plan a concert that people enjoy safely. He further said, “I also wanted it to be a vaccine drive to get the fence-sitters off the fence. I wanted to get the kids that want to go to shows to go out and get their shots.”
